Peyton Anderson- Post on class discussion 9/18

Peyton Anderson- Post on class discussion 9/18

We talked about the term "Nouminous" dealing with a bigger worldly power.  The story that Dr. Redick told was very interesting in the way that it happened.  Like he felt that there was a hand pushing him down, when it was just the water.  I know that I have felt like that in places, one being the ocean.  When you get knocked down by the waves it's hard to get back up because of the current and things but sometimes it feels like someone is not letting you stand.

The other part of class that I found very intriguing was the pictures that we discussed where it might have been a sacred place to one person and another might not even know what it was.  Looking at all the ruins of places in foreign countries where people would go to get away from everyday life was just astounding.  I also liked the story of the rocks, where one family would add rocks to the pile and the other side of the feud, that family would take one away.  And to everyone else it would just look like a pile of rocks.  I find it interesting that there are all these places in the world that only certain people know about and they hold so much significance to the culture where they belong.
