El Camino Movie

The only regret I have about this film is that we were unable to watch its entirety in class. Even though we had to skip a segment of the film, I thoroughly enjoyed it. I really want to some day take a trip to Spain and walk at least some of the El Camino. Seeing the friendliness of the travelers and the kindness of the natives was really great to see. Life on the Camino is both equally about the journey and the destination. One woman made a good case for traveling slowly on the Camino, and spoke about the necessity of taking the time to soak up the rich beauty of the landscape and slowing down so as to not miss out on any of the great things offered by the Camino. People were so kind to the travelers for example, one man gave a walking stick to a girl from New York, Monique. He said it was a tradition to use the stick on the El Camino, and passed it on to her for good luck. One of my favorite parts of the movie was to see my professor, Kip Redick or Hippy Kippy, his trail name, featured in it. It was really cool being able to see him in his element actually walking the Camino after hearing stories about it in class. Overall, the El Camino looks like a terrific adventure and I really hope I will get the opportunity to do it one day. Buen Camino!
