Blog Topic: Faith's Guest Speaker
Listening to Faith’s stories was really interesting. It was nice hearing another persons experience on the trail, especially because it was in a significantly different situation than taking a class to walk a trail. It’s insane to think that Faith went onto the trail alone originally, but then found friends as she walked. I could never imagine going into the wild without at least one other person with me. I also couldn’t see myself actually befriending people like Faith did. Her entire story was strangely inspirational, not that I want to go hike the trail myself, but it makes me feel like I can achieve things I never dreamed of doing if I just try. I loved hearing her stories of how nice people on the trial and people not on the trail were. She mentioned how strangers would offer her and her friends things when they needed them. It’s hard to believe that there are people who are actually that nice. The whole trail experience seems like a huge life-changing experience. I wish I had the braveness to hike the trail.
