Guest Speaker Faith

Having a guest speaker come to talk with us was a nice break from the usual sacred communication and journey class. Faith's presentation on her walk on the Appalachian Trail was really neat and enjoyable. It inspires me to want to take a similar, not quite as lengthy or demanding, journey into the wilderness. It was interesting to get the female perspective of traveling on the trail. She did not seem to have any concerns about her safety along the way, and meeting other hikers to travel with seemed effortless. Her and professor Redick, even though they traveled at different times, had similar, and enjoyable experiences. Although the trail at times seemed perilous or nonexistent, they did not give up, and continued to fight through the rain, mud, and boulders. Perhaps for my own journey, I can start with the  Noland Trail near the Mariners Museum and work my way up to a bigger and better adventure!
