Student Topic 4
As my friends are signing up for spring semester classes and we are all getting advice on what classes and professors to take, I can't help, but recommend this class to everyone and encourage them to take it even as an elective! I walked in the first day of class dreading it and now I want everyone to experience this class as I have. People are continually perplexed when I say that I have never gained so much perspective about myself, my faith, and the world in a class before. I do fully believe that you will get out of this class what you put into it, but it has been so rewarding to put in the work! The way I treat people has changed by studying Martin Buber, my prayer life looks different because of the Phenomenology of Prayer, and how I interact with my surroundings differently because of Dr. Redick's stories and the class outings. This class has given me the motivation to change aspects about myself and my world that I didn't like and has pushed me out of my comfort zone. Going into this class I would have laughed at the idea of hearing from nature. But because of the Noland trail day and hearing about the AT I have no doubt that nature interacts with us every day if we just listen. I am leaving this class a different person than I came into it as.
