Landscapes of the Sacred Post 2

Lane brings the idea that time can be depicted in the same aspects of place. For example in the readings, Lane explains that “time-like place-is also experienced in multiple dimensions” (Lane 41) and time can be depicted in two ways. According to Lane, Chronos depicts the repetitive side of time and says it happens to be equal. While, in another instance, the concept of Kairos depicts the “unrepeatable” side of time which describes great moments. Moreover, experiencing Kairos can cause time to be unknown and for time to feel out of one’s control. To truly encounter people must experience Kairos. For example, I find musicians and performers are great examples of experiencing Kairos. Moreover, musicians experience the deeper level of time because time seems to be a moment in which all time slows for slight beauty to be expressed. For example, there comes a phrase that “music is a reflection of the soul” and universally music touches people’s souls. Musicians experience or encounter time in a deeper concentration that also describes a subconscious experience that comes from within.
