Student Choice #2
When one takes a sacred journey there is a series of emotions the are embodied by both the mind and the physical body. Therefore, there is the question of what do you do when you are on the journey of a life time? What do you do when you feel anger? This is one of those negative, harsh emotions that naturally most people tend to want to avoid. It is hard to approach it, to deal with it, to embrace it, because you would rather it just go away. It won't. If you are able to share your anger when it arises, with yourself or maybe with others around you, the emotional war reaches it peak. In contrast, if you try to hide these negative feeling on your journey, they will take over every bit of you and end up making you feel like the victim to them. In my journey with yoga I have been learning that as long as you allow yourself to remain angry, you are caught in your own behavioral patterning and will not be able to line up with your actions. By allowing yourself to simply feel anger (or other negative emotions), and without feeding it or blaming it on others, you can move toward this. Then, just as all things on a journey work, you keep going. You change your thoughts to move that emotion (anger) from negative back to positive, learn from it, and make it part of your journey. Let it contribute, and let it bring you to your calling and share your truth (which isn't always perfect.)
