Student choice -2
I wrote a while back about the Lord’s Table as Sacred Place, and I had yet to feel I encountered the divine at the table until just today. As the elements were blessed we were told that the bread was “for all who hunger.” For some reason this particularly resounded because I have been searching for encounter but not necessarily found it in each eucharist. I believe I came to a better understanding of Lane’s third axiom. I think I was too bent up on understanding what I was doing wrong that I could not become more close with the divine. Instead, I realize that by the simple desire to become closer to the divine, I could. Rather than forcing myself into some “mindset” I should come to the table empty or hungry and be filled.
