My Choosing #2

A song called “Indian Creek” by Alathea, describes Indian Creek, a sacred place to her. Some key things that make this place sacred are the solitude and silence. These two things have been very prevalent in my life. Being a mix between a little bit of introvert and a little more of an extrovert, solitude and silence were things I needed, basically to keep me sane. Alathea says in her lyrics "The silence here is so loud...my soul is lost in getting found". In silence, you have nothing else to pay attention or listen to but your own thoughts. In solitude, you have no one/ nothing else to pay attention to but yourself. I believe that in these times, you really get to think about who you really are. I do believe the fact that you can be alone, but not lonely, but that's also not saying that you should be alone all of the time. There is a difference between isolation and solitude. Finding that healthy level of solitude in one's life, I think, can really open your eyes to whats happening on the inside and not so much the world around you for a while.
