Alexa Botha (Moment of Clarity)
Professor Redick spoke about a moment on the AT where he was overcome with an immense feeling of emotion and sacredness. Where it was if time stood still and the light and nature surrounding him engulfed him at the same time. I loved hearing about this moment, because I to have experienced it and before this class I really didn't understand it. I figured I was just a girl that loves the outdoors and would have deep moments of appreciation. It's a moment that is rather impossible to explain to someone else because if they were not in that frozen moment of time then they will not truly understand the experience. I can't tell you why but I thought it was such a beautiful story, and although this word is often times taboo, it seemed purely magical. During finals and the stress of everyday life I've been finding myself craving the wholesomeness, just a need to escape and go be somewhere silent yet also brimming with energy. The AT story, although short and brief was really something that stuck with me until the end of the class because I could see how it impacted professor Redick in such a way that I also want to go find my sacred moments.
