Matthew Arends -- The Mountains Can Talk

In class we discussed how the mountains can talk through the trees, snow, and especially through the wolf. This reminds me of the ATC cabin again like so many discussions in class have. When I was young Coyotes were often heard in the distance at night howling and barking. Especially when I was young I would often howl back to them and we would "talk" for hours. In some ways we were talking by the recognition of each other and responding though we didn't understand each other in a verbal sense, we understood one another as another. To this day when I hear coyote calls I am reverted back to those times I talked to them and I am that kid again.
