I
sat in frustration trying to figure out what to write for these outside
readings. Nothing came to mind at all, until I thought about the last papers we
wrote. We had to use ten different journal entries, so I went back and found a
few people I did research on. It was one above all that I related to the most,
Cozy. Her journal entries were beyond amazing. She made many connections
between her journey and sacredness. My favorite journal she posted was on March
7, 2013. She mentioned how she had cancer, and how she went through Chemo and
Radiation. She explained how it was tough for her to lose her hair, but she
believes it made her a better person. She made the connection with her Chemo
and Radiation; “This brings me hope for my AT thru hike. It won't be easy but I
am looking forward to becoming a better person. This process can't happen if I
look for shortcuts, alternative ways around, or a way out of going through the
mountains and valleys! I must go THROUGH” (Cozy 2013). Cozy has not only
inspired me to believe anything is possible, but she has also made me want to
be much better person that I am now.
