Outside Reading 1. Paul and Silas’ Hopefulness

I am currently reading through the book of Acts in the Bible and was really taken back by what it really means to have hope and figured why not share what I thought about that. In Acts 16 Paul and Silas, followers of the Lord, are on a mission to love the Romans and show them God. A lot goes down and Paula and Silas get beaten and thrown into jail. At this point, putting myself in their shoes, I would be pretty frustrated with where I was based on what I was doing. Paul and Silas were serving the Lord and because of that they were thrown into a predicament of sheer hopelessness. However, surprisingly enough they did not dwell on their situation at hand. Instead of being freshly beaten, locked in a prison and angry at God, Paul and Silas sat in the cell and sung praises to God.
