Outside Reading 2- Camino

As I am debating whether I should dedicate my time to hiking the Camino or the AT, I have been looking at different journal entries of thru-hikers. One hiker, named Chief One Bad Knee, recently finished the Camino in October. In her last journal entry, she mentioned, "Camino chooses you, you do not chose Camino", which is very similar to one of Lane's axioms, "A sacred place is not chosen, it chooses". This connection makes it clear to see that the Camino is a sacred place for this hiker. She also mentions, "if at the end of your journey, you have not learned from Camino, then you were not a Pilgrim." This also shows that the Camino is available for the hikers to learn from; if you didn't learn, you didn't really hike the Camino in a way that is most beneficial for you.
