Student Choice IV: The Way

I had seen this movie during my junior year in high school and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The movie is based around the Camino. A man's son dies while on the trail so he travels to France in order to retrieve his ashes. He decides that instead of returning back to the states he's going to walk the Camino. His reasoning for walking the Camino was to honor his son's unfinished journey and finish it for him. Throughout the whole journey, he carries the ashes of his son and spreads them across the trail in various places. The movie is accurate when it comes to the idea of communitas, how people all across the world come to walk the trail for various reasons and also a sense of self-discovery. Its definitely a movie that parallels the concept of this class really well.
