Landscapes of the Sacred #1 Axioms of Sacred Place
Lanes four axioms of Sacred place are an interesting look into what is required in order for a place to become sacred for someone and the role that we play in interacting with such a place. Before this reading, I had interacted with a select few sacred places before, but I had never thought to ask what role I was playing, if any in the creation of the place becoming sacred. The axiom that sacred place is not chosen but that it chooses would lead me to believe that it is outside of my control and that it is all about the place. But the axiom that sacred place is ordinary place, ritually made extraordinary would lead me to believe that I do have a part to play. It seems to be a delicate balance where both the being and the place are interacting. The being does need to be open to the possibility of a sacred place though.
