Outside Reading II

10/22/14
His Presence

In this book, the old man is fishing for days, getting weaker each passing day, until it happened.  He hooks a marlin and he battles with this fish the old man sees as a brother.  As the fight comes to the end the old man reels in and kills his brother, being the fish.  This marlin represent the greater being over us and giving us a gift.  This fish represented much more than a sea creature, it was a part of God cast down to share his greatness to the old man.  There is a powerful message through this being that God is always in our presence, sending little signs occasionally to remind us.
